Post-election Violence: Taraba Government Lifts Curfew On Jalingo
BY AMEH IDUJAGI, JALINGO – Following the restoration of peace after the violence that broke out as a result of the declaration of governorship election results, the Taraba State Government on Tuesday announced the lifting of the curfew it imposed on Jalingo last week.
This is contained in a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Darius Ishaku, Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa, which commended the people of the state for their patience while the curfew lasted.
It quoted Governor Ishaku as having directed security agents to continue with surveillance and patrols to avoid any ugly incident.
Our Correspondent reports that the 24 hours curfew which was imposed on Jalingo due to the situation at the time was later reviewed to 4:00pm to 6:00am before its lifting on Tuesday
