Preach The Good News Of Pilgrimage On Your Return Home – Rev Pam Urges State Leaders in Athens
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam has enjoined the States pilgrimage leaders and managers to preach the good news of pilgrimage in their various states when they return home.
Pam, who made the plea in Athens, Greece on Thursday, December 21, 2023 during a strategic meeting with the states Pilgrimage Leaders at the end of their Pre-visit tour of Rome and Greece, said the choice of Rome and Greece for the 2023 pilgrimage exercise was a collective decision of the Conference of States which comprises all the states chairmen and Secretaries of the States Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards.
The NCPC boss also explained that the decision of the Conference of States was as a result of the war that broke out on October 7, 2023 between Israel and the Hamas group.
He therefore urged the states leaders to abide by the decision reached at the Conference of States to ensure that the Rome and Greece Pilgrimage exercise would be successfully actualized.
Pam also admonished them to implement the resolutions of the Conference of States, especially with regard to the outcome of the pre-visit tour of Rome and Greece just as he advised them to go back home and drive the pilgrimage process in their respective states by kick starting the sensitization of Christians in their states.
He also urged them to ensure that they do the needful on time with their states chief executives saying; “what we have seen here, we will try our best to implement. We are the one to build the history of this place and make it strong”.
Earlier, the Chairman of Conference of States, Rev Isaiah Magaji commended the NCPC team led by the Executive Secretary for putting together the 2023 pre-visit tour of Holy sites and hotels in Rome and Greece.
Magaji urged his colleagues to go back home and reciprocate the gestures of NCPC by advancing the cause of Christian pilgrimage in their various states as well as ensure their states key into the forthcoming Rome and Greece pilgrimage exercise.
A statement by Celestine Toruka, head of Media and Public Relations of the NCPC, stated that most of the states’ pilgrimage leaders proffer solutions for a better Pilgrimage outing just as they overwhelmingly endorsed the 2023 pilgrimage exercise in Rome and Greece by early 2024.
