Manchester United and the Cameroon national team goalkeeper, André Onana Onana has set eyes on buying a personal property as a mark of his long-term commitment to the Premier League club.

Reports available indicate that the Indomitable Lions’ safe-hands is keen on moving out of Alexis Sanchez’s house, even as he is also reviewing the old mansion occupied by former United midfielder, Paul Pogba

Since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer of 2023, Onana has been living in the same property where Sanchez stayed during his stint with the Red Devils.

The reports said the Keeper is looking to buy a property in the same upscale neighbourhood with his wife Melanie and their four children set to move in within the next few months.

According to Old Trafford insiders, Onana and his family are considering several options in their search for a new home. These options include the former residence of another ex-Manchester United star, Pogba.

However, despite its appeal, the Pogba residence ultimately failed to meet the needs of Onana and his family, leading them to continue their search for the perfect home.

Close family sources hinted that Onana is determined to make amends for his first season at United which was fraught with challenges and getting settled in a comfortable apartment may be refreshing and do him some good going forward.

Having reunited with his former Ajax boss, Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, it was indeed quite a struggle for him to find his footing with performances marked by inconsistency, raising questions about his ability to handle the pressure of being the first-choice goalkeeper for one of the world’s biggest football clubs.

Though he has with time proved his mettle and become an undisputable starter with his shot-stopping ability, composure on the ball, and leadership qualities, pundits still believe Onana has a lot to do if he must keep up winning the trust of United’s teeming fans and supporters globally.

Onana kept a clean sheet against Fulham in the Premier League opener and will now be looking to build on that performance when United lock horns with Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

The Cameroonian international, who joined Barcelona’s youth system in 2010, signed for Ajax in 2015, where he made 214 appearances and won three Eredivisie titles. In July 2022, he joined Inter Milan on a free transfer, winning a Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana title while also reaching the Champions League final in his sole season at the club.

Onana, who was snapped up by Manchester United for an initial £43.8 million fee in 2023, has made 40 appearances for the Cameroon national team since making his debut in September 2016.
