Presidency Accepts Ajuri Ngelale’s Resignation, Begs Nigerians To Respect His Privacy

The Presidency on Saturday acknowledged receiving a memo from Ajuri Ngelale, the immediate past Spokesman for President Bola Tinubu, to proceed on an indefinite leave of absence for personal and health-related reasons.
A statement shared on the X handle of the Presidency, @NGRPresident on Saturday night with “The Presidency” as signatory, said the reasons given by Ngelale for the leave of absence has been accepted.
The statement read in parts; “The President has received the memo from Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson of the President as well as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, informing of his decision to proceed on an indefinite leave of absence for personal and health reasons.
“The President accepts his reasons for the leave, fully understands them and sympathises with the circumstances that hav led to this seemingly difficult decision”.
It further said the President noted his “tireless efforts and dedication in serving the nation, and thanks him for the remarkable contributions he made in his various capacities, especially in advancing national discourse and leading efforts on climate action and other key initiatives.”
However, the statement asked that during this period, the wish for privacy of Ngelale and his family be respected.
Announcing the decision to quit his roles within the Presidency, Ngelale said it was taken after significant consultations with his family over the past days following the worsening of a vexatious medical situation.
He also said the decision include stepping down as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
Ngelale Can Now Switch Off Phone, Rest Well And Add Weight – Shehu Sani
Meanwhile, former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central District in the eighth (8th) National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to the indefinite leave of absence embarked upon by Ajuri Ngelale.
Commenting on the development via a post on his official X handle, Sani said Ngelale can now rest well, switch off his phone and even regain his weight.

Ngelale was appointed as the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity on August 1, 2023.
