President Buhari Confers with Pakistani Prime Minister on Global Initiative on Debt Relief

President Muhammadu Buhari and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr Imran Khan, on Thursday afternoon had a phone conversation on Global Initiative.

The conversation centred on Debt Relief canvassed by leaders of the 120 nation Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group during an online summit that took place on Monday.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said that the leaders of the organization, the largest after the United Nations had agreed that a debt relief campaign be launched for developing countries to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and unprecedented health and socioeconomic challenges facing most of them.
