President Buhari For Ghana’s 61st Independence Celebrations
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected in Accra, Ghana tomorrow, Monday as the Special Guest of Honour at the country’s 61st Independence Anniversary holding at the Independence Square on Tuesday.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina said in a statement on Sunday that President Buhari is the only foreign leader invited to the historic event as the Special Guest.
According to the statement, “Similarly, other than his host, President Nana Akufo-Addo, the Nigerian leader is the only foreign guest scheduled to address the august gathering.”
Mr Adesina further said that the President would use the unique opportunity to reaffirm the long-standing warm relations between the people and governments of both brotherly nations.
He stated that President Buhari would also underscore Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening the bilateral ties in furtherance of democracy, good governance and overall development not only in the West African sub-region, but also the African continent.
Adesina said to accompany the President on the one-day trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno.
President Buhari will return to Abuja after the celebrations on Tuesday, the statement said
