The President prayed God Almighty to grant the family of Osinowo, friends and well-wishers the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his own message, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, said he received with shock and sadness the news of the death of Senator Osinowo.

Lawan said Osinowo served his country creditably as a Distinguished Senator at the Ninth Senate which marked its first anniversary only last week.

The Senate President said the pains of Senator Osinowo’s untimely departure will be felt by his Distinguished colleagues and the National Assembly in general.

Lawan while condoling the family, friends and political associates of Senator Osinowo, prayed for sweet repose of his gentle soul and for God to grant those he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his own condolence, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila described the late Senator Osinowo as a fine politician, who contributed immensely to the growth and development of Lagos State through his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gbajabiamila recalled his engagements with the late Senator all in an attempt to better the lives of Lagosians, saying; “Senator Bayo Osinowo’s death is a painful loss to Lagosians. Here was a man who dedicated himself to the service of his people. He was always at the forefront of delivering the dividends of democracy to the electorate.

Similarly, the National headquarters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) described the death of Senator Osinowo as a big blow.

The Party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu said it received with shock the passing of the Senator representing Lagos East in the Senate, Chief Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo.

The APC said it joined other Nigerians, the entire National Assembly, the good people of Lagos East in particular and Lagos State in general to mourn the passage of a democrat, who contributed immensely to the development of Lagos State as a lawmaker in the House of Assembly and Nigeria as a Senator.

The APC further said; “Though his tenure in the Senate was brief, our great party appreciates the loyalty of Senator Osinowo to the cause of the APC-led government.

“Fondly called “Pepperito” by friends and associates, he was a four-term member of the Lagos House of Assembly, where he represented Kosofe constituency. In the 9th Senate, Osinowo chaired the senate committee on commerce, industries and investment.

“We commiserate with his immediate family, political associates in Lagos State and beyond, and the Senate for this irreparable loss and pray that the Almighty God grants the deceased peaceful and eternal rest.”
