The briefings received by President Muhammadu Buhari from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Service Chiefs at the closed door meeting in the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja on Saturday may form some key aspects of Mr President’s nationwide broadcast this Monday morning.

Sources at the Presidency hinted that formally welcoming the President home, Prof Osinbajo, who held fort for about 103 days as Acting President, and the Service Chiefs were at their best detailing further insights on some of their activities during Mr President’s medical leave in London.

Forefront learnt that measures taken to get the nation’s economy out of recession, growing agitations for Nigeria’s restructuring as well as recent upsurge in the activities of Boko Haram insurgents in the North East region were dominant issues at the meeting.

So as Nigerians await this Monday morning broadcast, expectations are running high about possible major highlights in the Presidential speech, aside Mr President’s predictable appreciation to the country, Nigerians and global well wishers for their prayers throughout the period of his health challenge.

From the Vice President’s office, insiders said detailed briefs of activities and action during his Acting Presidency days have been packaged and already on President Buhari’s table for information and necessary action.

“And if Prof Osinbajo’s expression that, ‘There is great hope, there is great excitement and we are going to make it as a nation’, is anything to go by, then the President’s broadcast will do well to assuage many frayed nerves in the country”, one of Forefront sources said.
