BY OYEKACHUKWU IBEZIM – The face-off between Spiritual Leader of Adoration Ministry, Reverend Fr. Ejike Mbaka and the Presidency may have further deteriorated with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) raising an alarm on Wednesday over the security and safety of the fiery clergyman.

According to the OYC, it is quite disturbing that suddenly Father Mbaka’s whereabouts is not known shortly after his altercations with President Muhammad Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu over the contract request allegations.

OYC President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike said there is heightened apprehension that the Catholic priest has not been seen publicly and remained incommunicado since Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

In a statement cited by some media outlets early on Wednesday, Nnabuike claimed that Father Mbaka was last seen on Tuesday and that efforts to locate him or trace his whereabouts have so far not yielded any positive result.

The statement said; “We have it on good authority that his aides have neither seen nor heard from him since Tuesday. Calls put to his mobile line have also remained unanswered; this has now prompted us to issue this alarm as we would not take it lightly should anything untoward happens to him.”

Directing its query at the Presidency to ensure nothing untoward happens to the Catholic priest, the OYC said; “We are giving the Federal Government 48 hours to produce the priest, else they should be ready to face Igbo youths.

“They were dining and wining with him all along and now that he told them the truth, they are no longer comfortable with him.”

“Let nothing happen to Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. It will not be in anybody’s interest,” the group warned.

The hitherto steaming romance between both parties recently turned sour when the fearless Catholic cleric slammed the President, calling for his resignation or impeachment over the worsening security situation in the country
