Professionals In PDP Demands Exit Of Wike, Others Serving In APC-led Govt
The Conference of professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has condemned what it described as the unwholesome activities of some stakeholders within the Party aimed at destroying it for their selfish agenda.
The professionals noted that the PDP was dangerously haemorrhaging and being deliberately weakened from carrying out its role as a viable opposition, adding that the situation could lead Nigeria to a one-party state.
Accordingly, the professionals demand the immediate resignation of all PDP members that have taken up appointments with the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.
The PDP Conference of professionals also demanded the immediate convocation of a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to address pressing matters.
A statement by Mr Obinna Nwachukwu, Interim National Coordinator of the group, called on stakeholders within the PDP to urgently stand up for the party and rescue it from imminent collapse.
Nwachukwu also urged members of the party to set aside personal, group or sectional interest and put the Party’s Constitution and wellbeing above every other consideration.
The National Coordinator of the group, said the decision of the professionals in the PDP was reached after an extensive review of the current state of affairs of the Party.
Nwachukwu stressed that as professionals and patriotic members of the PDP, they could no longer continue to fold their hands while some fifth columnist within the party brazenly engage in actions and utterances that are capable of destroying the Party.
