The Premier of the defunct Northern Region, late Sir Ahmadu Bello, is among those to be honoured on Dec. 14, 2025, by an NGO, Project Victory Call Initiative alias PVC-Naija.

This was contained in a statement jointly issued in Abuja by the PVC-Naija President, Paula Bellgam, and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Ademola Adunola, in which they stated that the Sardauna of Sokoto was being honoured as “a patriot and consequential historical figure whose stewardship helped in shaping Nigeria’s destiny”.

Project Victory Call Initiative (PVC-Naija), a non-governmental focused on political advocacy and civic education, is hosting the Awards Nite to celebrate leadership excellence and citizenship impact.

The NGO plans 21 citizens-driven Awards, among them: Political Icon of Year, Governor of the Year, Senator of the Year, Local Government Chairman of the Year, Security/Peace Builder of the Year Minister of the Year, and Impact Assessment (President Bola Ahmed Tinubu).

Other categories of award-winners include: Special Lifetime Recognitions, Dele Giwa Pen Award for Investigative Journalism, Best FCT Minister from Inception, Christopher Kolade Tube Award for Television Journalism and Lifetime Honours (Elder Statesmen).

The statement further stated; “We are dedicated to: Rethinking Nigeria, Reinventing politics, Remodeling leadership and Redefining governance. Our goal is to erase dividing lines, forge unity, and empower citizens toward nation-building.

“Among our objectives are: to establish direct engagement with electorates seeking positive change as well as to position citizens as decisive stakeholders in Nigeria’s power equation.

“A Night 4 Naija is, therefore, a national recognition and award ceremony that honours leaders, advocates, and change agents who have contributed to Nigeria’s growth and democratic development.

“It is more than an award—it is a celebration of excellence, leadership, and citizen engagement,” it stated.

On the modalities of the awards, Bellgam guided by media explained that PVC-Naija received submissions in June–July 2025 while screening was completed by September 2025.

The organisers said that winners will be chosen by Nigerians — for Nigerians, thus invited Nigerians to be part of history by actively voting for nominees and gracing the event which holds on Dec. 14, 2025 at Merit House, Abuja, from 3pm.
