PDP Remains Solidly United – Secondus
BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The Uche Secondus-led national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday said that it is completely unperturbed by the comical act of some individuals who make outlandish claims in the media regarding the party.
This is just as it warned that it would not be responsible or respond to any person or groups of individuals that allow themselves to be used by forces from another political party in a laughable and childish attempt to distract it.
National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Kola Ologbondiyan stated these while responding to actions initiated by a faction of the party that emerged in Abuja on Wednesday, led by one Emmanuel Nwosu.
Ologbondiyan said the fact remains that the PDP is happy with on-going efforts by the Governor Seriake Dickson-led Reconciliation Committee, as well as the responses from all the respectable and responsible leaders of the party in that regard.
He further said the PDP under the Prince Uche Secondus-led national leadership would continue to focus on re-positioning the Party as a formidable opposition that will guarantee checks and balances in the polity and ultimately regain power in 2019.
The Nwosu-led Fresh PDP group has called for the nullification of the December 9, 2017 national convention of the Party.
The Fresh PDP group told journalists at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday at its newly opened secretariat, located at Tito Broz street, off Jimmy Carter street, Asokoro District, said the process that led to the emergence of the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee was fraught with illegality and abuse of electoral process.
