Hon Edison Ehie, who is the Chief of Staff to suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, has alleged that the former governor of the State, Nyesom Wike, offered him N5 billion to betray and turn against his principal.

Ehie, confidently said that he still has the evidence of the offer made to him by Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which he outrightly turned down.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Fubara, stated these when he featured on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme, pointedly said that the evidence in the communication on his phone.

In the words of Ehie; “The offer was made when I was the Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly. The offer was with the intent to lure me into working against Governor Fubara.

“I was approached with a promise of N5 billion to betray my governor, but I refused. The evidence is still on my phone,” he declared.

This was as Ehie outrightly dismissed allegations by the former Head of Service of Rivers State, Dr, George Nwaeke, who alleged that he (Ehie), orchestrated the bombing of the State House of Assembly complex on the instruction of Governor Fubara.

He said that the highly compromised Nwaeke was quite aware of the police reports which clearly confirmed that the last convoy to access the complex before the explosion belonged to the Assembly Speaker, Martins Amaewhule.

In the words of Ehie; “The security reports showed that the last people who accessed the Assembly before it was bombed were those in the Speaker’s convoy. I had no hand in it.

“I can tell you that Nwaeke’s accusations were influenced by individuals loyal to Wike. On the same day Nwaeke resigned as Head of Service, he had reached out to me and requested for financial assistance.

“Nwaeke’s issue is greed. I have evidence that he was begging me for money on the same day he resigned. His statements were clearly sponsored,” Ehie stressed.
