Salary: Speaker Dogara Received N206,577,87 In February 2017
BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Speaker Yakubu Dogara on Tuesday released his six-month pay slips detailing his total emolument as a member of the House of Representatives. The six months pay advice covers October 2016 to March 2017.
From the month of October to January 2017, according to the pay slips made available to Forefront, the Speaker collected a net pay of N346,577,87, comprising a basic salary of N206,425,83, N175,461,96 for constituency and N20,642,58 for recess. Dogara’s Pay As You Earn deduction was N56,952,50 in all the six months under review.
In February 2017, the Speaker’s salary reduced to N206,577,87 due to his party, APC’s deduction of N140,000,00.
However, in March 2017, there was a reprieve for Dogara, as the party’s deduction was reduced to N70,000, 00. His net pay in March 2017 therefore stood at N276,577,87.
