Ganduje’s Ex-SA Media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai Released By SSS

The Department of State Security Service (DSS) on Monday released the former Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Mr Salihu Tanko Yakasai, popularly known as ‘Dawisu’.

Dawisu, was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign if he is incapable of piloting the affairs of the country particularly the insecurity situation.

The elder brother to Dawisu, Umar confirmed his release, saying that he was already on his way home.

The DSS confirmed arresting Yakasai after a major outcry on Social media even though the Kano State Director of the Service, Alhassan Mohammed had earlier denied arresting Dawisu, saying that the report of the alleged arrest was a mere ‘rumour’.

Governor Ganduje announced the sack of Salihu Tanko Yakasai shortly after his arrest through his Commissioner of Information, Mallam Mohammed Garba saying that the former aide was relieved of his duty owing to “unguarded utterances” and criticisms against the ruling APC as well as President Muhammadu Buhari.
