School Owner Confesses Killing 5-Year-Old Student With N100 Rat Poison
- Blames financial constraints, indebtedness for dastardly act
A school proprietor, Abdulmalik Tanko has confessed to killing a five-year-old, Hanifa Abubakar with N100 rat poison.
Abdulmalik, the principal suspect, made the confession as more revelations surrounding the unfortunate death of Hanifa emerged on Friday.
The suspect, who claimed to be the school proprietor, blamed his current precarious financial situation as the reason for killing the innocent girl.
According to him, he was pushed to commit the evil act owing to serious financial hardship and indebtedness to the owner of the structure housing the school
Abdulmalik, who is a father of two, made the confession when paraded before newsmen at the Bompai police headquarters on Friday.
He said his demand of six million Naira ransom was not met as deceased family could only cough out N100,000, which, he claimed, was used to settle his teachers’ outstanding salaries and allowances.
