Senate Okays Najomo As NCAA’s New DG
The Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Captain Chris Ona Najomo as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
His (Najomo) confirmation followed the adoption of the report presented by the Senate Committee on Aviation during plenary.
Chairman of the Committee, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo), who presented the report, said the Committee had screened the nominee, deeming him suitable for the appointment.
According to Senator Abdulfatai; “This is due to his vast experience and outstanding contributions to the aviation industry”.
He urged the Senate to approve the committee’s recommendations for Najomo’s confirmation as the director general of the NCAA.
In his contribution, Senator Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno), described the nominee’s resume as impressive, noting that there were no adverse security reports from relevant agencies against him.
Acknowledging that the Aviation Committee has done a great job, Senator Monguno said the Senate should approve its recommendations for Najomo’s confirmation.
Consequently, the Upper Legislative Chamber confirmed Najomo’s nomination as the NCAA’s new Director General.
