BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Following the arrest by the police of the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke, a Magistrate Court sitting in Mpape-Abuja on Tuesday granted him bail.

The Nigerian police arraigned him before a Magistrate Court in Mpape on a five count charge of forging a letter of attestation and result from Muslim Grammar School, Ede, Osun State.

Upon reading the five charges, Senator Adeleke pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Muhammed Suberu.

The Magistrate while granting him bail in the sum of N2m with one surety, ruled that the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

The Federal High Court had earlier granted Senator Adeleke permission to travel to the United States of America on today (Tuesday).

Adeleke, who is the PDP Governorship candidate in the last governorship election in Osun State, is challenging the declaration of the APC candidate as winner of the election for which the Election Petition Tribunal already declared him winner.
