BY AMEH IDUJAGI, JALINGO – The former Senator representing Taraba North at the National Assembly, Senator Zik Ambonu Sunday has been kidnapped by some unknown gunmen.
Also kidnapped is the Chief Iman of the Taraba State Police command Mosque, Corporal Mostapha Badamasi.
This was confirmed on Monday by the Taraba State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, DSP David Misal,
Misal, who announced this while briefing journalists at the Command headquarters, said that the Senator was kidnapped in his Village Bachama, Karim -Lamido, Local Government Area at about 1.30 am of Saturday.
The spokesman of the Police however said that efforts were ongoing to rescue him.
Forefront News recalled that Senator Sunday served Taraba State as a federal lawmaker between 2003 and 2007 in the red chambers.
Misal also said that Badamasi was kidnapped in his house at Sabon-Gari, a suburb of Jalingo town in the early hours of Monday.
The Police spokesman assured that the police is working tirelessly to rescue the victims.
It was gathered that the former Senator retired back to Karim-Lamido his home town to embark on large scale farming about two years ago.
