The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has confirmed the draw procedures for the Group Stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2025/26, with the ceremony holding today, Monday, 03 November in Johannesburg, South Africa
With the event taking place at 14h00 local time (12h00 GMT), the sixteen (16) clubs, which advanced from the second preliminary round, will feature in the official group stage draw.
African football icons, Alexandre Song and Christopher Katongo, will serve as draw assistants, lending their expertise and star power to the event.
According to the Continent’s football governing body, fans across Africa and beyond can watch the draw live with the qualified teams divided into four groups of four teams, representing Groups A-D.
The teams are seeded based on their performance in CAF inter-club competitions over the past five seasons.
Below are the detailed draw procedures:
POT 1
Teams: Al Ahly FC (EGY), Mamelodi Sundowns (RSA), Espérance Sportive de Tunis (TUN), RS Berkane (MAR)
The 1st ball drawn will go directly to Group A (A1)
The 2nd ball drawn will go directly to Group B (B1)
The 3rd ball drawn will go directly to Group C (C1)
The 4th ball drawn will go directly to Group D (D1)
POT 2
Teams: Simba SC (TAN), Pyramids FC (EGY), Al Hilal SC (SUD), Young Africans (TAN)
The 1st ball drawn will go directly to Group A (A2)
The 2nd ball drawn will go directly to Group B (B2)
The 3rd ball drawn will go directly to Group C (C2)
The 4th ball drawn will go directly to Group D (D2)

Teams: Atlético Petroleos (ANG), AS FAR (MAR), MC Alger (ALG), Rivers United FC (NGA)
The 1st ball drawn will go directly to Group A (A3)
The 2nd ball drawn will go directly to Group B (B3)
The 3rd ball drawn will go directly to Group C (C3)
The 4th ball drawn will go directly to Group D (D3)

The draw will determine the groups for this season’s TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, setting the stage for another thrilling chapter in African club football.
