Concerned over the unabated killings in Southern Kaduna, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Samson Monday Dikko has said that in spite of the wanton killings and destruction in Southern Kaduna, both the State and Federal Government have not deem it fit to visit the affected villages and communities.
This is as Dikko Monday said that he suspects a case of conspiracy of silence from the State and Federal Governments that are constitutionally mandated to protect the people.
Hon. Dikko, who is representing Jaba State constituency, noted that the silence and refusal to visit the affected villages, communities clearly showed neglect of the people.
This is as he also said that security agencies have not been able to protect Christians from the raging killings in Southern Kaduna.
Dikko, who stated these in an interview with Trace Reporters in Kaduna said; “I suspect conspiracy of silence from both the Kaduna State and Federal Governments. What have they done to curtail these killings? We elected them and they should do the needful. If the Government continue this way, we will have no other option than to defend ourselves from home,
“We have no other option than to defend ourselves and avert certain death in the hands of jihadists,” he stressed.
Condemning the killings in Southern Kaduna, the legislator urged Christians to be on the alert and respond proactively, saying; “Government has failed to adequately prosecute offenders or restitute victims”.
Dikko further said that within a space of one week, the people of Southern Kaduna experienced a devastating series of attacks, adding that in spite of an imposed curfew, the Fulani militia returned and wreak more havoc on the community that were still in shock and mourning from the previous day’s massacre.
He lamented the persistent violence which resulted in killing of innocent people which he described as “unfortunate and disheartening” Hon. Dikko urged both the federal and Kaduna State Governments to stop the needless killings.
He said; “I call on government at all levels to release funds to security agencies, sack the Service Chiefs and inject new blood and investigate the killings in Southern Kaduna.
The legislator expressed sympathy to the families of those who lost loved ones, and prayed God to comfort them.
