Sunday Igboho’s House Attacked, Wife Abducted By Gunmen
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – The residence of the Yoruba Nation protagonist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho situated in Soka Ibadan, was attacked in the early hours of Thursday by some unknown gunmen.
This was just as the leader of the Umbrella Body of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye, announced that the wife of the Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho has been abducted by armed gunmen who attacked his Ibadan home on Thursday.
Prof Akintoye, who stated this while reacting to the invasion of the Ibadan, Oyo State Residence of Chief Igboho at the early hours of Thursday, alleged that the attack was carried out by the elements of the Nigerian Army, accompanied by international terrorists hired by the Nigerian State.
It was gathered that the incident which witnessed the destruction of his home and cars parked inside his compound took place at about 1:30am.
The spokesperson of Chief Ighoho, Mr Olayomi Koiki alleged on his media page that some men in military uniforms carried out the attack adding that Igboho’s vehicles that include his G-wagon, Prado Jeep and some other valuable properties in the house were destroyed.
Koiki further said that bullet holes were found in cars parked in the premises while serious blood stains were seen in most parts of the premises.
It was learnt Igboho was not at home during the attack while some alleged he ‘mysteriously’ disappeared.
Oyo Police Command was yet to confirm the attack.
However, Prof Akintoye in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, also alleged that the assailants were all dressed in military uniform and spoke French language fluently.
Akintoye said that the gunmen killed seven occupants in the building and whisked Igboho’s wife and several others away.
He further said; “This is an emergency response to an emergency matter by Ilana Omo Oodua. Around 1am today Thursday 1st July, 2021, the Ibadan, Oyo State Residence of one of the leading men in our struggle for Self-Determination in Yoruba Land, Chief Sunday Adeyemo fondly called Sunday Igboho was unfortunately attacked by Gun men.”
“I want to say to the whole world that the attack was carried out by the elements of the Nigerian Army who were accompanied by International Terrorists hired by the Nigerian State.”
“The Assailants spoke French Language fluently. Seven people were killed by the attackers, with their corpses taken away. Scores of people, including the Wife of Chief Ighoho, were also taken away by the Gunmen.”
“Let me state without any fear or intimidation that the Muhammadu Buhari led Administration was responsible for the war that has just been declared against the peace-loving people of Yoruba Land,” he said.
