A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Honourable Dimeji Fabiyi, has described the purported declaration of support by five non-voting deputy officers of the National Working Committee (NWC), of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the acting National Chairman, Amba. Umar Damagum as inconsequential, lacking in logic and common sense.

He stressed that the constitution of the PDP is unambiguous with regards to the role of deputy officers of the NWC, stressing that they have no significant roles at both the NWC and NEC but, only struggle to act when the substantive NWC member is absent as they are more or less like any other members of the party.

Fabiyi therefore said that the press conference addressed by the five deputy members of the party’s NWC drumming support for the embattle Damagum was not only funny, but so irrational, lacked direction and meaning in any material particular.

The PDP chieftain said that it is obvious that water is gradually drying behind the acting chairman of the Party, Amb. Damagun hence, the desperation, frustration and struggle to mobilise low IQ officials of the party however meaningless their support mighty be to used for his inordinate agenda.

Fabiyi said that it was most unfortunate that the five members of the PDP NWC, who have no votes in the affairs of the party would allow themselves to be used to destroy the Party they claim to be members.

These were contained in a press statement in which he expressed concern how people who do not have votes in the NEC and are not sitting members of the NWC can have the temerity to want to decide for the party.

In the words of Fabiyi; “It is really unfortunate because they are allowing themselves to be used in the palpable death of the party. Their declaration is not only inconsequential but also lacks common sense and holds no water.

“Perhaps, they are delusional of their roles in the party’s constitution or ignorant of it . The truth, however, is that they are quite aware that their words have no bite and their vituperations are inconsequential. They chose to align with the enemies of the PDP like Damagun and Wike in order to destroy the party.

“In politics, you find all kinds of characters who lack credibility and conscience. They don’t have the love of the party at heart. To them, it’s all about personal selfish interests as being exhibited by Minister Wike, Damagun and the gang.

“Even in those days, when the PDP was in its best elements, the deputies have no significant roles at both NEC and the NWC. They only struggle to act when the substantive NWC member is absent. They are more or less like other members of the party.

“But what we have today are individuals who deliberately turn blind eyes to the party’s progress because of self aggrandizement.

“The inconsequential declaration by the NWC deputies is an aberration and insult to the sensibilities of loyal party members – it is not something to be worried about. It is a mere wishful thinking of a house boy who thinks by satisfying his master once, he will be entitled to marry the beautiful daughter of his boss.

“Damagun is oblivious of the fact that the death of PDP will first consume him and his gang and their wild aspirations, while their boss, Wike, has secured himself with the APC,” Fabiyi said.
