A constitutional lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr Oba Maduabuchi has declared that Thursday, April 30, 2026 judgement of the Supreme Court has completely resolved the factionalistion in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conclusively.
Maduabuchi, who stated this when he featured on Arise News programme, expressed concerns on why people particularly the media focused more on the nullification of the Ibadan convention and left out the main issue that was taken to the apex Court for resolution.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria stressed that what instigated the Supreme Court proceedings was the need to determine the authentic leaders of the PDP.
Maduabuchi said that voided and completely obliterated everything Sam Anyanwu did on behalf of the party from the time he was suspended by the national leadership of the PDP, including the March 12, Abuja convention.
He explained that since Anyanwu was suspended, and was no longer a member of the Party, he was not in a position to take decision or act in any way whatsoever on behalf of the PDP in any material particular.
In the words of Maduabuchi; โI donโt know why there is so much frenzy over the Ibadan convention. The convention is not what took people to court. The Ibadan convention is simply tangential to the matter.
โEverything Sam Anyanwu has done on behalf of the party was invalidated, including the March 12, Abuja convention because he had been expelled from the party leaving the Turaki faction as the only recognised faction.
