Suspected Herdsmen Allegedly Attacked Prof. Soyinka’s Residence in Abeokuta
BY OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT – Suspected herdsman have reportedly attacked the residence of Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Tuesday night.
This is as Prof. Soyinka described the attack as daring.
The suspected attackers were however arrested and are currently being detained by the police.
The incidence is captured in a trending video showing the herdsmen that purportedly made moves to attack Soyinka’s residence on Tuesday night.
The video which was believed to have been recorded by a man riding on a motorcycle, showed policemen around the entrance of the area leading to Prof. Soyinka’s residence in the estate situated at the Kenta-Idiaba area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
When contacted on phone for his comment on the development, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said he had just been briefed about the incident and trying to gather more information before issuing a press statement on it.
This is as Forefront gathered that Tuesday’s attack on the residence of Prof. Soyinka was not the first time as a similar incidence took place in April 2017.
