Tanker Explosions: President Buhari Directs Road Traffic Agencies To Address Incidences

BY GRACE ANYANWU, ABUJA- President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday directed all road traffic authorities and transportation ministries in the country to urgently address the incidences and frequencies of fuel tanker explosion on public roads or residential areas.

President Buhari, who gave the directive while condoling with the government and people of Benue State over the tanker explosion that left several people dead in Agatu Local Government Area of the State, commiserated with families of the victims.

He said; ”I am worried by the frequency of these tanker explosion incidents on public roads or residential areas”.

Noting that public safety should not be compromised under any circumstances, Buhari called for strict adherence to safety standards and procedures; adding that a;; safety rules should be enforced without fear or favour.
