Taraba APC Leaders Hail Buhari Over Mamman’s Appointment As Minister Of Power

BY AMEH IDUJAGI, JALINGO – The people of Taraba state have declared that the appointment of Alhaji Saleh Mamman as Minister of Power would expedite the construction of the 350 megawatts Mambilla Hydro power project.

The people while commending President Muhammadu Buhari for assigning the Power ministry portfolio to Mamman, noted that the appointment is for the entire Taraba state.

In his comment, the Taraba Coordinator of Buhari Support Organization (BSO) Alhaji Zakari Ngoroje, noted that the Mambilla project is key to the success of the Buhari administration.

Ngoroje noted that Mamman is in the position to bring to an end, all the obstacles in the host communities and the state at large that have being hindering the project from take-off.

According to him; “The minister, being a son of the soil, is in the proper position to interact with the host communities, the two companies assigned with the responsibility of handling the project and the Federal Government for a smooth take off and completion of the project.”

Ngoroje called on Governor Darius Ishaku to cooperate with Buhari in order to fast tract the actualization of the project.

He further said; “I want to urge the people of the state not to allow tribal, political and religious sentiments to frustrate works at the site. We should do everything humanly possible to support the project.”

In his own comments, an associate of the minister, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalingo, described the appointment of Mamman as minister of Power as a turning point in the development of Taraba and Nigeria.

Jalingo noted that as an electrical engineer, Mamman is better placed to undertake the all important Mambilla Hydro Electric Power Dam to tackle the power shortage in the country.

While commending President Buhari for the appointment, Jalingo said the people of the state would continue to support his administration to enable it succeed on its mandate.
