Ten Days After, Bandits Free GSS Kagara Students

After spending about 10 days in the kidnappers’ den, students and staff of Government Science Secondary School (GSS), Kagara in Niger State have regained their freedom.

While storming the school to abduct the students, the dare devil bandits had killed one of them in the process.

Forefront reliably gathered from a security source involved in the counter-kidnapping operations in Niger State that the victims have eventually been set free by the abductors following successful negotiations with the kidnappers.

However, the source did not offer information if any ransom was paid to facilitate the release of the school children and their members of staff from the bandits’ enclave.

The official list of those adducted indicated that 27 students, three members of staff and 12 members of their families were involved in the incident that took place in the early hours of Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Hours after the armed bandits, reportedly dressed in military uniforms, executed their dastardly act, popular Islamic scholar, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, had visited Tagina forest to engage with one of their group leaders, Dogo Gide and his fighters on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
