Terror Alert: DSS Confirms Abuja Trademore Estate Raid
BY VICTOR BUORO – The Department of State Services (DSS) says contrary to speculations in the public space, its recent operations at the popular Trademore Estate in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has no foreign inputs.
Spokesman for the nation’s Secret Service, Dr. Peter Afunanya, who confirmed the raid, denied insinuations that it was carried out as a joint operation with foreign military personnel.
A statement sighted by the media quoted Afunanya as saying; “It is true that an operation was carried out by DSS operatives and the Nigerian military but no foreign military personnel was involved.
“It is not true that any bomb was recovered or anyone arrested during the operation in the said estate”.
The Media has been awash with reports that an eye witness and resident of the estate, Barrister Chigozie Eburuo hinted a sting operation was undertaken by DSS operatives in the early hour of Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
He claimed the operatives were able to smoke out one of the suspects from a rented Boys Quarters (BQ) apartment in the Police Quarters of the estate, where he was hibernating and perfecting plans to attack targeted churches in the estate and other places in the nation’s capital.
