In what looks like an affront, dare devil terrorists operating in the North-west geo-political zone of the country, on Saturday night launched an attack on Janboka in Maradun Local Government Area, the village of the Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Bello Matawalle.
The attacks came on the heel of the decision about twoweeks ago by the Minister of State for Defence, Mr Matawalle and other top military officers that relocated to the Northwest zone with a view to clear the terror gangs that have made life for citizens of the zone difficult and traumatic.
During the attack, the terrorists killed two persons and abducted about 40 others mostly women and children who they led away to their den.
The latest attack by the terrorists, Forefront News gathered, happened barely a week after the non-state actors freed 10 persons they had earlier abducted, after receiving N10 million ransom.
According to a resident, of Janboka, Mr Ibrahim Haru, the terrorists on gaining entrance to the community, started shooting indiscriminately in spite of the presence of the local vigilante.
Haru said that most of those abducted were women and children, adding that after a headcount conducted after the attack on Sunday morning indicated that 40 residents were missing.
Haru also said that two persons identified as Malam Isah and a teenage boy were shot and killed while trying to flee from the terrorists’ attack, stressing that the attacks on Maradun Local Government Area by terrorists have taken a new dimension just as they have become a recurring decimal.
