‘THE ANTHEM’ Stage Performance Unveils Live In Abuja
BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Sunday, October 14, 2018 promises to be exiting and captivating as a play production takes the centre stage at the popular Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Centre, situated at Kado District of Abuja.
According to one of the organisers of the Command Performance, Mrs Funke Sodade, the show promises to hold the audience glued to their seat and one that would captivate their attention as well as hold them spell bound.
Simply put ‘The Anthem,’ is a story about Nigeria that is inspired by the National Anthem. It is an epic tale that portrays a utopian Nigeria where fault lines do not exist.
‘The Anthem’ carries a strong patriotic message that inspires nationalism and stirs a sense of self-responsibility for nation building. The play draws characterization from the values contained in National Anthem….
According to Sodade; “Once upon a time, there began Fatherland. He was a powerful being forged by the Hand of the God of Creation in the sweat of Heroes Past. Heroes Past was a great warrior who fought Darkness, an ancient evil, to take back the Scepter of One Nation that governed the existence of man.
“You see, there was a Prophecy that Fatherland would unite all kingdoms of the world and be the greatest ruler that ever lived if he could wield the Scepter of One Nation that had been stolen by Darkness ….”
She said “The Anthem” has been endorsed by the National Orientation Agency and Small Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
