There’s No Supreme Court Judgement Against Gov Fubara – Rivers State Govt Says
The Rivers State Government has declared that there is no Supreme Court judgment whatsoever against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
It therefore urged the right-thinking members of the public to ignore what it described as “the outdated political propaganda” by some desperate politicians.
It explained that the appeal which it filed at the Supreme Court on the 2024 budget was no longer of any useful purpose.
A statement by Hon Warisenibo Joe Johnson, Commissioner for Information and Communications, said that the only reasonable thing left to do was to withdraw the appeal and have it dismissed since the 2024 budget became spent on the 31st December of 2024 fiscal year.
Hon Johnson noted that the Supreme Court is a very busy court.
In the words of Johnson; “There is no Supreme Court judgment against Governor Fubara. Ignore the outdated political propaganda by some desperate politicians.
“It will be most unwise to belabour the Honourable Court with academic appeals without any practical or utilitarian value. That is the appeal that the urchins are celebrating.
“Supreme Court ruled on the Appeal over the 2024 budget voluntarily withdrawn by Governor Fubara because 2024 budget cycle have ended and no need wasting time discussing a budget that have been fully spent and implemented,” he said.
The Information and Communications Commissioner pointedly said that Rt. Hon Victor Oko Jumbo is still the authentic speaker, stressing that nothing can change that.
