Three Months After, Bauchi Gov. Nominates New Set Of Commissioners

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – After three months of suspense, Governor Bala Mohammed on Tuesday transmitted names of new set of Commissioners to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The Governor had in the past three months been working without a State Executive Council (SEC) after sacking his cabinet.

The letter of the nomination of the new Commissioners which was transmitted to the State Assembly was read at plenary by the Speaker, Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman.

The letter reads, “The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad has requested the Bauchi State House of Assembly to screen and confirm the following Commissioner nominees.

They include; “Alkaleri LGA – Abdulkadir Ibrahim; Bauchi LGA has two nominees – Garba Dahiru and Nuruddeen Abdulhamid; Dambam – Ahmed Aliyu Jalam; Darazo – Dayyabu Chiroma and Dass – Maryam Garba Bagel.

Others are: Gamawa – Umar Babayo Kesa; Giade – Asma’u Ahmed; Jama’are – Usman Abdulkadir Middibo; Itas-Gadau – Hajara Jibrin Gidado and Katagum – Sama’ila Dahuwa Kaila.

The nominees also include; Misau LGA – Aminu Hammayo; Shira – Hamisu Muazu Shira; Tafawa Balewa LGA also has two nominees – Sama’ila Burga; Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu; Toro – Aliyu Usman Tilde and Warji – Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki.

The House is yet to fix a date for the screening of the Commissioner nominees.
