…Says, youths are key to ending nation’s insecurity

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Suleiman has said that the time to put an end to the spate of crises arising from agitations from all segments in the country is now in order to halt further implications on the economy.

Suleiman, who is also the chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, said there can be no investor that will invest in a country that is not safe.

He said; “We must enthrone peace and tranquility across the country in order to attract foreign investors to grow our economy”.

Suleiman, who stated these while delivering his speech as the Guest Speaker at the 2021 Sayawa Arts and Cultural Festival popularly known as ‘Lepm Zaar’, said; “for Nigeria to end insecurity, it must start from the youth that are being used to perpetrate most of the vices”.

Speaking on the theme; “Peace; a panacea for development”, Suleiman posited that the fight against insecurity that has eaten deep into the economy of Nigeria must start from youths.

He further said; “Tafawa Balewa is the home of our Late Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, who was for the Muslims and Christians, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and others. The efforts of our founding fathers should not be put into extinction”.

Suleiman wondered when the Nation would understand the importance of peace and security and sustain it saying, “We cannot afford to continue to suffer and experience backwardness. We must embrace peace for development.”

He therefore advised the Sayawa nation to remain united and cooperative, stressing that it is only by doing so that they can achieve development and progress.

Lemp Zaar is an Annual Cultural Festival organized by Sayawa Nation of the Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government Areas of Bauchi State aimed at bringing sons and daughters of the area together to celebrate the successes recorded in the area over the past year.

Impressed by the rich cultural heritage of the Sayawa nation, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has indicated that it will enlist the Lemp Zaar Cultural Festival among the national festivals in the country in order to expand its coverage and importance.
