BY EDMOND ODOK – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates from the list of 68 nominees earlier confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in December 2025.
According to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the confirmed postings are Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to France, while Colonel Lateef Are is ambassador-designate to the United States of America (USA).
The statement issued on Wednesday said the President also approved the redeployment of Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, a former Ambassador to South Korea, as the High Commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom (UK).
Furthermore, Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, was named ambassador-designate to Turkey, a development coming ahead of President Tinubu’s scheduled state visit to the West Asian country next week.
Meanwhile, the President has in an official memo directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally notify the governments of the four host countries in line with established diplomatic protocols and procedures.
