Tinubu: My Focus Not On 2027 Election But…
President Bola Tinubu on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in Lagos, declared that his focus is not on the 2027 election but, on how to make Nigeria great for generations yet unborn.
Tinubu, stated this at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West Zone Assembly in Lagos State, hosted by the Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said that he remain committed to repositioning the country and creating wealth for generations.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the President said he was pained by the hardship in the country but assured that Nigeria would get better.
Tinubu also said that he took some tough decisions for the good of the country, adding that for every moment in a country, a particular leader is produced for that time.
In his words; “This is the time to produce a leader who is courageous. The challenges of our country are diverse and immense. When a man has a strong conviction of what he is doing, he pursues it”.
The President said he has love for Nigerians and would continue to listen to them and do what would be good for the citizens.
Speaking earlier, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the APC leaders came together as one big family to explore more ways to work together, share ideas and agree on strategies to take South-West to greater heights.
Sanwo-Olu said; “We are blessed with assets and more positioned to move the country forward.”
He therefore appealed to the APC leaders and other members to give adequate support to the Tinubu-led administration and should strive to forge ahead.
In his speech, former governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, who was the keynote speaker, said the South-West APC should be ready to forge a united front, saying that he was convinced that the APC will remain strong to accomplish the business of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
According to Fayemi; “APC remains the only successful party that emerged from the cohesiveness of four different political parties. That is history. We must continue to protect what makes us thick.
“Our congress should be regular within specific time frame. Our party is the framework in which we thrive as the ruling party,” he said.
