It was a case of celebration turned sour as a trigger-happy policeman reportedly killed two persons and injured others while on illegal duty at a birthday party in Lagos state.
Reports said the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday night as the drunken policeman fired several shots from his gun to celebrate a businessman’s birthday at the popular La Silva Bar, located in Gowon Estate, Egbeda in the Alimosho area around 9 pm.
A Twitter user, @themannaman, who shared gory videos of the incident, claimed the policeman actually wanted to shoot into the air while other guests were spraying money on the birthday businessman but fired at them instead.
He wrote: “The policeman allegedly while drunk wanted to shoot upwards, but accidentally shot at the guests.”
The Lagos State Police Command is reportedly on the hot trail of the errant policeman and his birthday host who is said to have gone into hiding.
