Troops Fill Pot Holes, Clear Bushes For Unhindered Movement
AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Troops under the 7 Division in Operation LAFIYA DOLE have commenced massive filling of pot holes and extensive clearing of vegetation to ensure security and safety of persons, goods and services along various routes within the Division area of responsibility in Borno State.
This is just as troops of 21 Brigade on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 intensified efforts to fill bad portions along Bule Yobe to Darajamel road.
A statement by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations of the 7 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Kingsley Samuel explained that the development is part of the Division’s overall intention of denying the Boko Haram terrorists freedom of action and facilitate unhindered movement along the routes.
Col Samuel further said that the gesture is to ensure safety of the road for troops, civilian vehicles and humanitarian relief trucks, adding that already, troops of 21 Brigade had earlier laboured vigorously and successfully filled several other pot holes with concrete along Road Banki Junction through Frigi up to Pulka and Gwoza.
He also said that in the same vein, troops of 192 Battalion of 7 Division Garrison, in conjunction with Armed Forces Strike Force Battalion and locals in Delwa, carried out road shoulders clearance of vegetation along Road Delwa/Bulabulin.
The Division spokesman said troops of 103 Battalion has fixed pot holes and is engaged in shoulders clearance of vegetation along the Kunduga to Bama road axis.
He said the Division has continued to support the various formations with logistics and others necessary assistance to favourably accomplish the tasks.
