Two Of Our Vehicles Burnt By Shiite Members In Abuja – NEMA

BY GLORIA USMAN, ABUJA – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has said that two of its Emergency Response and Ambulance Bays (ERABs), were burnt down by members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMIN) popularly known as Shi’ites.

A statement by the Head of Media and Public Relations of the Agency, Sani Datti, said the ERABs, was stationed on Ahmadu Bello Way, beside the Federal Secretariat in the Central Business District of Abuja.

Datti said; “The two burnt vehicles were the Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU), meant for life support ambulance and a multi-purpose Response Intervention Van (Rescue Tender).”

NEMA further said that the ERABs was stationed at the location for timely response to emergencies and disasters to reduce loss of lives and property in the nation’s capital.

The Director General of the agency, Engr. Mustapha Maihaja later visited the response bay and inspected the damage.
