Unknown Gunmen Abduct Rtd AVM Smith In Lagos
Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped retired Air Force officer, Air Vice Marshal Smith in Lagos.
Reports said he was abducted by some unknown gunmen around 6 pm on Monday at a site near Blenco Mall on Addo Road Ajah area of Lagos State.
An eyewitness account indicated that the gunmen, who fired shots sporadically into the air, took AVM Smith away while his driver was running errands.
It was gathered that heavy gunshots rented the air as the gunmen’s display forced residents of the area and passers-by to scamper for safety, while Blenco shopping mall immediately shut their entrances to customers.
After successfully abducting their victim, the gun-wielding hoodlums escaped to safety in a speedboat through the Lagos waterways.
In a distressed voice note, Corporal Okdiji, who is attached to retired AVM Smith as his driver, was heard saying, “they have kidnapped Air Vice Marshal Smith from the site where we are. Some gunmen wearing masks kidnapped him.
“They were shooting everywhere. I was fixing Oga’s vehicle when it happened. On my way back, I saw them. They went on a boat through the water, I ran to the site I saw Oga’s glasses and where he struggled with them before they took him.
“They moved from Pump and sell at Blenco area in Ajah, en route towards Ikorodu area through the water.”
Contacted on the incident, Spokesperson of Lagos State Police Command, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu said he was yet to be briefed on the alleged kidnap – With Vanguard reports
