Unknown Gunmen Strike Again, Kill Imo APC Presidential Campaign Council Member
BY ONYEKACHUKWU IBEZIM – The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)’s family in Imo State has been thrown into mourning following the death a member of its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Captain Tony Enoch.
According to party sources, Enoch was killed by some unidentified gunmen around the Secondary Technical School, Awo-Omamma (STSA) axis in the State.
A native of Oru East, the same Local Government Area as Governor Hope Uzodimma, the late Enoch was a retired military officer.
During the just concluded general elections, Enoch also doubled as the Coordinator for the Grow Orlu Project, a political structure of the Senator-elect of Imo West Senatorial District, Osita Izunaso.
According to competent sources, the unknown gunmen attacked and killed Enoch who was returning from an APC stakeholders meeting held at the Oru- East Council headquarters.
Reports indicated that he (Enoch) was ambushed by the yet-to-be identified gunmen who ordered him out of the car before shooting him about three times in the head. He dead body was thereafter dumped in the boot, where traces of blood were discovered under the abandoned car.
Contacted on the unfortunate incident, Spokesman for the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, said he was yet to receive any official briefing on such a case.
However, Okoye promised to make necessary inquiries before reaching out to reporters on the incident.
