Uprising: el-Rufai Imposes 24 Hour Curfew On Kaduna And Environs

…As military, other security agencies take over streets

BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – Following the 24hours curfew imposed on Kaduna metropolis and environs, officers and men of the Nigerian Army and mobile Police Force on Sunday evening took over the streets after pockets of protests.

The Kaduna State Government had to quickly announced a 24-hour curfew to prevent protesters from unleashing mayhem on innocent citizens.

It was gathered that fears of possible crisis started getting into the spines of citizens at about 4pm when telephone calls, text messages and WhatsApp chats started making the rounds to loved ones, telling people to stay in safe areas.

In the meantime, eyewitnesses account told Forefront News that the soldiers were seen using military trucks to convey stranded commuters to their various locations.

As at the time of filing this report, it was still unclear as to what led to the unfortunate development.
