The Vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shettima has been appointed as the Chairman of “Osinbajo ice cream company”.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who announced the appointment on Tuesday in an amusing sensation while speaking at the launch of a book titled; ‘Deputizing and Governance in Nigeria’, authored by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State in Abuja, also said that the former governor of Borno state is also the Majority Shareholder of the company.
Shettima as Director General of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign organisation for the APC presidential ticket opined in June 2022, that Professor Yemi Osinbajo was a nice man who would do better selling ice cream and not good enough for the office of president.
In the words of Shettima; “Osinbajo is a nice man. But, nice men don’t make good leaders. Nice men should be selling popcorn, ice cream”.
Osinbajo, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the book launch took his time, while recognizing dignitaries at the event which took place in Abuja and threw the political knock at Shettima which served as a reminder of what he said concerning him (Osinbajo) when he was contesting for the presidential ticket of the APC.
He said; “Distinguished Kashim Shettima, who is also the Majority Shareholder and chairman of the Yemi Osinbajo ice cream company”.
The joke by Vice President Osinbajo generated so much laughter in the hall but, the message was certainly passed.
