We Did Not Illegally Recruit 16 Persons – FCC

BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has said that contrary to publications in some online portals, it did not illegally recruited 16 persons.

The Commission in a statement by its Director, Public Affairs & Communication, Dipo Akinsola, said that it is only undergoing re-organisation both in its Operational Committees and staff posting with a view of effectively delivering on its mandate in ensuring fairness, equity and accountability in the distribution of posts and socio-economic amenities and infrastructural facilities in the country.

It said that it is ready to partner with critical stakeholders, including both conventional and other medium to enable it advance the cause of unity and understanding in the country to enable all citizens of the country benefit from the laudable activities of government.

According to the FCC; “The allegation that 16 persons were illegally recruited in the Commission is not true”.

The FCC therefore appealed to members of the public to ignore the alleged calls by some Commissioners of the FCC on President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission over the grant of Waivers and alleged recruitments carried out in the Commission.
