The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ha declared that it could not have stampeded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu into picking whoever he wants to work with as his running mate for the 2027 election.
The party which stated this while reacting to a news item regarding the purported endorsement of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, at an event where party stakeholders endorsed President Tinubu for second term, stressed that the news report completely and mischievously distorted the principle and conduct of the event which held in Hong Local Government.
A statement by Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi, State Publicity Secretary of the APC, explained that the meeting in Hong only a passed vote of confidence in Mallam Ribadu as a son of Adamawa State who was appointed into a sensitive position of trust by the President and in which he makes all of the people proud due to his commendable performance.
Abdullahi further said that the meeting was held in continuation of ongoing tour of local government chapters to ginger up members of the APC with a view to pass down the decision of the State, Zonal and National leaderships of the party to support President Tinubu for another term of four years.
In the words of Abdullahi; “In fact, there is no basis nor justification to endorse the NSA as all persons nominated or appointed into positions are only nominated at the leisure of Mr President”.
The Adamawa State chapter of the APC therefore urged the public to disregard the mischievous distortion of events just to create confusion and fuel disaffection.
The party reiterated its endorsement of President Tinubu as the presidential flag bearer of the APC, adding that it will continue to mobilise the people to ensure that it deliver President Tinubu in 2027.
