BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors on the aegis of Progressives Governors Forum have resolved to mobilise for the victory of the party’s governorship candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the September 19, 2020 poll in Edo State.
Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, stated this while responding to questions on APC’s chances in the coming polls in Edo and Ondo states.
Governor Bagudu expressed the hope that the party would emerge victorious in the elections, following the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
He debunked insinuations that six APC governors were planning to leave the party, stressing that all elected public officers on the platform of the party believe in its ideology.
He described Pastor Ize-Iyamu as a very sound intellectual with deep understanding of governance having served in different capacities in government and at the party level, adding that the governorship candidate was a founding member of the APC that participated actively in drafting the constitution of the APC.
Bagudu also said that Ize-Iyamu is a respected grassroots politician with a very large followership in Edo State, adding that his credentials and closeness to the people would sell him to the electorate.
