…Says, INEC is an extension of the ruling party
BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Founding National Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Professor Udenta Udenta, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC), “structure of darkness” is destined to collapse before the 2027 general elections.
This was as it accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of turning ityself to an extension of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by surrendering its machinery to the APC and legitimising “electoral robbery and violence”.
Professor Udenta also noted that the nation’s judiciary has also become seriously compromised in such a manner that the people no longer believe courts’ pronouncement on issues pertaining to law.
Udenta, who stated these when he featured on Arise Television on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, also said that based on critical and content political analysis, the “structure of darkness” of the APC cannot survive the test of time as it would surely collapse, stressing that Nigerians are increasingly becoming disillusioned with the federal government, thus waiting for a credible alternative.
According to Udenta; “The APC has weaponised state institutions in order to entrench its dominance. It however, lacks the needed legitimacy to survive Nigeria’s political future.
“What APC has done is to collapse the economy, collapse security, collapse cohesion and collapse legitimacy. This is a structure of darkness and it will collapse on its own.
“2027 would be a turning point, especially if former President Goodluck Jonathan enters the race. The panic is that 2027 will be a day of reckoning. That becomes more acute if Jonathan contests that election,” he stressed.
Udenta therefore tasked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) to unite against the APC, warning that failure to do so would plunge the country deeper into crisis.
“If PDP and Labour Party do not come together, the APC will destroy this country beyond recognition. 2027 is not just another election. It is the soul of the country that will be contested,” he stressed.
Udenta also noted that discussions about Tinubu’s 2027 running mate was a humiliation of Vice President Kashim Shettima, saying that early endorsements of Tinubu while keeping Shettima’s role uncertain reflect deep internal contradictions within the APC.
