BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has declared that the character attributes of President Muhammadu Buhari and the realisation that Cross River, which has been emasculated economically following the ceding of its oil wells, needed to be in sync with the party at the center, were the main reasons for his moving to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ayade, who on Thursday dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC, also said that having seen and known President Buhari and his commitment to the country, his nationalistic disposition and all the efforts he has made to bring Nigeria to where it is today, it is obvious that at this point that he (Ayade) needs join hands with the President to build a Nigeria that all can be proud of.

The defected governor further said; “We need all governors to recognize that it is not party that matters. It is character, it is honor, it is commitment to the vision of this great nation.
