Yobe Police On Trail Of Armed Robber Who Stabs Victims With Jack Knife
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI – The Police Command in Yobe State is on the trail of a suspected armed robber who stabbed a lady and snatched her Cell phone.
The Command according to a Crime Update by the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, frowned at the recent attack on and innocent citizen by unscrupulous element thus, vowed to bring the culprit to book soonest.
This was as the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed expressed displeasure over the aggressive acts of the perpetrator and directed for his immediate arrest anywhere he could be found.
It was gathered that on April 27, 2024 at about 2130hrs, the victim, while trekking back home at Malari bypass after closing from her shop in Jerusalem area of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, was attacked from behind.
The PPRO explained that on reaching Damaturu City Academy, a miscreant attacked and stabbed her with a locally made Jack knife on the lower back and forcefully snatched and made away with her cell phone.
An alarm was raised which attracted police attention and on arrival at the scene, the Police Response team rushed her to the hospital where she is currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Police Command has deployed all available means to arrest the perpetrator and bring him to book.
Accordingly, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed, enjoined members of the community to be conscious of their surroundings from hoodlums lurking around.
CP Ahmed also advised members of the public to always report suspicious movements of persons, vehicles or objects to the nearest police station or any security agency or formation.
