BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The youngest Chibok girl Maeda Dorcas Yakubu, abducted on April 14, 2014 by the dreaded Boko Haram turns 20 years old in captivity.

Dorcas Yakubu, who was described as an exceptionally bright student, resulting in her reaching her final year at a record breaking age was just 15 years old at the time of her abduction by terrorists from her Government Girls Secondary school, Chibok.

She has so far been featured in two videos released by the terrorists, a development that led for call for prayers for her release.

A statement by a Washington Human Right Lawyer, Barrister Emmanuel Ogebe said there has been no negotiated releases of Chibok girls by the Federal Government in over a year now.

Ogebe also recalled that the heroine Christian Schoolgirl, Leah Sharibu, who is the sole remaining hostage of the 2018 Dapchi school mass abductions, equally marked her 15th birthday last month in Boko Haram captivity.

Leah was 14 at the time of her abduction in February 2018 and she has been held now for 109 days despite Federal Government’s assurances of her release.

Ogebe noted that the release of the abducted schoolgirls is the solitary achievement of this administration after three years but sadly it remains an uncompleted project.
